Who is Surly Headed East? Well, we are two guys with one mission: to bike from Coast to Coast in time to be home for Thanksgiving. Having both recently graduated college, in one of the worst economies since the Great Depression, it was time to take a risk before settling on a life of groundhog days and cubicle work. Surly Headed East is a test of strength and endurance, which will lead to self-discovery and exploration. One final goal is to raise both money and awareness of the group Team in Training while crossing the country. Team in Training's purpose is to train athletes while raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. “It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves.”
